2016 QUARTERLY ISLAMIC FINANCE PUBLIC LECTURE IRCIEF-IRTI: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC FINANCE

Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of Islamic Development Bank (IDB), had organized the “2016 Quarterly Islamic Finance Public Lecture IRCIEF-IRTI: Sustainable Development Goals: The Role Of Islamic Finance” on 4 November 2016 at Hassan Omar Lecture Hall, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS). The event was attended by more than 50 participants from various institutions of higher learning, representatives from Islamic financial institutions, government officials, and KUIS lecturers.

The public lecture entitled “Sustainable Development Goals: The Role Of Islamic Finance” was delivered by Prof Dr Abdul Ghafar Ismail, Manager Islamic Economics and Finance Research Division, Islamic Research & Training Institute, Islamic Development Bank (IRTI-IDB). The program began with the recitation of du’a led by Ustaz Muhammad Syafee Salihin Hassan followed by Public Lecture by Prof Dr Abdul Ghafar Ismail. After the public lecture session ended, IRCIEF had a book launching ceremony for the first book published by IRCIEF in collaboration with IRTI – IDB entitled “Policy Discussion on Maqasid Shariah for Social Economic Development”. The book was launched by Prof. Dato Dr. Ab Halim Tamuri, Rector of KUIS.

2016 QUARTERLY ISLAMIC FINANCE PUBLIC LECTURE IRCIEF-IRTI: SOCIAL ECONOMY (IN COLLABORATION WITH PPS AND INHAD)

On 26 September 2016 International Research Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF) in collaboration with Pusat Pengajian Siswazah (PPS) and Institut Kajian Hadith (INHAD) had organized 2016 Quarterly Islamic Finance Public Lecture IRCIEF-IRTI : Social Economy at Auditorium Dr Zainuddin Jaffar, Administrative Block KUIS. The event was attended by more than 100 participants consisting of industry players, representatives of Islamic financial institutions, and KUIS lecturer.

The public lecture entitle Social Economy was delivered YB Senator Dato’ Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki, Deputy Minister in Prime Minister Department.

The program began with du’a recitation led by Ustaz Muhammad Syafee Salihin bin Hassan, followed by an opening speech by Prof Dato Ab Halim Tamuri, Rector of KUIS and continued with the public lecture. The program ended with the token of appreciation to YB Senator Dato’ Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki. After the event all participants, committee members and KUIS staf were given a chance to have a photography session with YB Senator Dato’ Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki.

2016 QUARTERLY ISLAMIC FINANCE PUBLIC LECTURE IRCIEF-IRTI: WAY FORWARD TO WAQF UNIVERSITY

On 11 August 2016 International Research Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF) KUIS had organized 2016 Quarterly Islamic Finance Public Lecture IRCIEF-IRTI : Way Forward to Waqf University at Auditorium Dr Zainuddin Jaafar, Administrative Block KUIS. The event was attended by more than 400 participants consisting of industry players, representatives of Islamic financial institutions, and students.The public lecture entitled Way Forward to Waqf University was delivered by Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim, Chairman of Dewan Perundangan Islam Malaysia and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the former Prime Minister also attended this event as the Guest of Honor.
The program began with du’a recitation led by Ustaz Nushi Bin Mahfodz and continued by the public lecture session. The program ended with a speech by Dr Latifa Bibi Musafar Hameed, Director of IRCIEF sharing about IRCIEF and thanking all participants for taking part in the event. After the event all participants, committee members and KUIS staff were given a chance to have a photography session with Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim and also Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.’

IRTI CORNER LIBRARY OPEN DAY 2016 :PUBLIC LECTURE AND FORUM

International Research Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF) had organized the IRTI Corner Library Open Day 2016 on 23 June 2016 at Hassan Omar Lecture Hall, Academic Block 3, KUIS. The event was attended by more than 100 participants consisting of industry players, representatives of Islamic financial institutions, and students.

The morning session began with du’a recitation by Ustaz Muhammad Syafee Salihin Bin Hassan followed by Opening Speech by Profesor Dato’ Dr. Ab. Halim bin Tamuri, Rector Of KUIS and the public lecture session began. The public lecture was delivered by Prof Dr Engku Rabiah Adawiyah, Professor at IIUM and the topic was financial inclusion. After public lecture session end, the forum session begin after 15 minutes of break. The theme for the forum was also the financial inclusion. The forum session were delivered by Dato Adnan Alias, Ceo of IBFIM, Dr Hamim Syahrum, Deputy Director of Islamic Banking and Takaful Department Bank Negara Malaysia, Prof Dr Engku Rabiah Adawiyah and Dr Rusni Hassan, Associate Research Fellow IRCIEF as a moderator. The morning session ended with token appreciation to all speakers. After the morning session end, all speaker and guest had a chances to visit IRTI Corner Library.

The evening session was Islamic finance quiz competition conducted by Mr Mohammad Rizki bin Moi and Mr Ahmad Fatin Muhamad Suhaimi and this quiz held at IRTI Corner Library. This quiz were participated by student of KUIS.

During the event, there were also sales booth opened by INCIEF, IBFIM, CIMB Bank Berhad, Research Management Centre (RMC) KUIS, and also Pustaka Darul Iman.
