2017 QUARTERLY ISLAMIC FINANCE PUBLIC LECTURE IRCIEF :FORUM ON GST DILEMMA

International Research Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF) in collaboration with Centre for Postgraduate Studies (PPS) had organized the 2017 Quarterly Islamic Finance Public Lecture IRCIEF: Forum on GST on 12^th September 2017 at Hassan Omar Lecture Hall, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS). The event was attended by more than 100 participants from various institutions of higher learning, KUIS lecturers and students.

The forum on GST Dilemma was conducted by invited moderator, Dr Noor Suhaila Shaharudin, Head of Program, Diploma & Degree in Accounting Faculty of Management & Muamalah, KUIS. IRCIEF has invited 4 speakers for the forum; Encik Ahmad Yani Ismail, Deputy Director of Research, Research Management Centre (RMC), KUIS; Encik Md Rozalafri Johori, Chief Operating Officer, KUISCELL, KUIS; Dr Ahmad Badri Abdullah, Research Fellow, International Institute of Advanced Studies (IAIS), Malaysia; and Mr Mohamad Sabri Saad, Representative from Royal Malaysia Customs Department.

The program began with the recitation of du’a led by En Ahmad Fatin Mohammad Suhaimi. The forum which was conducted for one hour and thirty minutes ended successfully.

IRTI CORNER LIBRARY OPEN DAY 2017

International Research Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance (IRCIEF) had organized the IRTI Corner Library Open Day 2017 on 20^t^h February 2017 at Hassan Omar Lecture Hall, Academic Block 3, KUIS. The event was attended by more than 80 participants consisting of industry players, lecturers and students.

The morning session began with du’a recitation by Ustaz Muhammad Syafee Salihin bin Hassan followed by opening speech from Profesor Dato’ Dr Ab. Halim bin Tamuri, Rector of KUIS. It was continued with the public lecture delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rusni Binti Hassan, Associate Research Fellow IRCIEF, with her topic ‘Implementation of Shariah Governance Framework for IFIs: Where Are We Now After 5 Years?’. The forum session took place after 15 minutes break with the topic ‘Fintech Technology: The Stand of Banks’. The session was moderated by Mr. Wan Rumaizi Bin W. Husin@Abdul Aziz, Shariah Committee of Bank Rakyat whereas Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rusni Binti Hassan; Asst. Prof. Dr. Rizal Bin Mohd Nor, Lecturer of IIUM; and Mr. Mohd Zulkefli Bin Hamdan, Chief Operation Officer of Dinarpal International Innovation Outlet acted as the panellists. The morning session ended with a token of appreciation session to all speakers. During the morning session, there was also book sales booth opened by IRCIEF, KUIS.

The evening session started with Muamalat Interactive Game (MIG) Competition among IPT students. The competition was conducted by Mrs Syarifah Nur Amalina Binti Syed Nasaruddin and it was held at IRTI Corner Library. The participants were students from KUIS, UKM and USIM. There was also Knowledge Dart Games run at the same time. This game was held at Level G, Academic Block 3, KUIS and it was conducted by PEMAJA Club. This game was joined by KUIS students.
