Islamic Finance Intellectual Discourse (IFID) is a biennial event of International Research Centre of Islamic Economics and Finance, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor, (IRCIEF-KUIS). IFID highlights current issues and progress of Islamic Finance in Malaysia. It also brings prominent scholars to discuss the topic identified based on the current scenario of Islamic finance in Malaysia.

The objectives of this event are:

  1. To expose intellectuals, students, industry on the potential and current issues of Islamic Social Finance.
  2. To explore the role of Social Finance as a catalyst for social well -being especially during economic crises.
  3. To encourage the involvement of intellectual norms in society.

The 4th IFID 2021 is a collaboration between IRCIEF, Centre of Islamic Economics (CIE, IIUM) and IsDB Institute (IsDBI) and Masjid Al Azhar KUIS. This event also received financial sponsors from individual, Masjid Al-Azhar KUIS and Pusat Pungutan Zakat, PPZ. PPZ also apart from financial sponsor, generously sponsor two e-books on zakat. We also engaged with IFIKR and Yasmin TV as media partners.

This year, 4th IFID2021 presented 10 internationally recognized and renowned speakers line up on the online stage to share and discuss the current issues on Islamic social finance arranged in 10 different sessions. A total of 33 participants not only from Malaysia but we also welcomed international participants from Indonesia and Singapore.

In adapting to the new norms due to pandemic Covid-19, this year, the 4th IFID 2021 is conducted through online via zoom platform. The concept of online discourse allows additional gain to the audience in which we possibly broadcast the event across the continent.
